When you have something you need to do; especially something that is challenging; do you sometimes feel like you find yourself getting distracted more than normal?
There could be many reasons why you are getting distracted:
- You don’t 100% believe you can achieve what you have set out to do
- You are not fully committed to this goal and need to re-look at what you truly want
- Outsider opinions can make you doubt your abilities
Of course there are many reasons; but those are just a few major ones.
You need to step back and evaluate; and keep telling yourself over and over again (until you BELIEVE it) that you are amazing, strong and if you really want this; you CAN make it happen.
Watch the words you use in your daily language when you talk about your goals. Take the words of doubt out of your vocabulary, because if you use words that put yourself down, you will get to the point where you do not think this goal is attainable to you.
I love quotes, and depending on what obstacles I am faced with; there is always something I can look to for a reminder:
“When you start living the life of your dreams, there will always be obstacles, doubters, mistakes and setbacks along the way. But with hard work, perseverance and self-belief there is no limit to what you can achieve.”
― Roy Bennett
If you are set on achieving a goal that takes a lot of work and belief; you will always get people who question your actions.
Are you sure you want to be doing this? Maybe you should do this instead (the safer route).
I am positive most of the successful people you see today, and the people in history you read about ALL had doubters in their life and people trying to talk them out of their “nonsense”.
They wouldn’t be where they are today without a little faith in themselves and their capabilities of being who they truly want to be and hard work to make that happen.
If you are having setbacks or feel like you are being distracted from your goal; sit back and read/write and believe in yourself and make a plan of action today to get you back on track.
For myself, I have written a goal and a place I want to be in a year from now; and I have been starting to read this daily (morning and night) to keep it in the front of my mind. I will continue to do this until I believe that there is NO way I can fail. Along with this I have also made sure to write steps of how to achieve this and dates in which I need to complete each plan of action.
What kind of things do you do to kick your butt back in gear?
I know everyone has their own system/way that works for you personally.
