For business owners this is an amazing thing and can open up so many opportunities.
It isn't just cold-calling, door knocking methods now. We can now reach out to people all over the world from a click of a button.
Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Instagram, Pinterest and more give us this ability to connect with like-minded people, to learn from others and find what we are looking for with ease.
Connect with other businesses and people locally or in another country with ease. Your outreach (if done properly) can be seen by so many more then it used to.
But please don't forget that speaking to your potential client/customer in person is important.
If you do not know this person, they don't know who is on the other side of the computer/phone. Give them the opportunity to speak to you by phone, Skype is a tool I use very often with my clients if meeting up can be difficult.
If you are local to each other meet up for a coffee somewhere or travel to their place of work if appropriate. I understand matching up schedules can sometimes be tricky and I've dealt with this before as well; but if you can it really helps to develop a relationship with them.
Create a network of REAL connections; not just people you want to "get something from". Helping other businesses out, learning what each other does is so important because the more people you can connect with, the better off these connections will be in the future.
Same goes for personal life and I am guilty of this at times too. Life can get so busy and you can keep in contact with people through phone, online etc. but its not the same.
Make it a priority to be with other people in person because those are the times you will remember, not the times you spoke to people online.
Make a lasting impression!
Thanks to @bizzaro for the photo that is so true today
