The way I keep myself going is to think "if I stop now, will I regret it?" Most of the time, if it is something I truly wanted at some point; then YES I WILL REGRET IT!
I don't want my life to be full of regrets, I want to finish what I started if it works for me.
Running / starting your own business can come with many challenges, doubts, fears and your mind can come up with a million reasons why to quit; but ask yourself.....What if I keep going, what if this really works out for the best?
For example, with my graphic business; the amount of no's I get on a weekly basis when I contact somebody to possibly help them with their graphic work or needs to help brand their company is a lot. At first, I would take it personally.....maybe I'm not good enough....did I say something wrong.....maybe my time isn't worth what I'm selling my services for and SO many more. Now I say to myself; this wasn't a right fit, or maybe it wasn't the right time. I know my worth and I know that I can do a great job, so I'm going to stop putting myself down and keep moving forward.
I have asked myself if maybe I should just get a job with a graphic agency if that's what I truly want to do; but then I'm not being true to my goals and what I really want. Times may be hard one day, but you need to keep moving forward and keep trying and good things will come, the right opportunities will come; just keep at it!
With my family life for another example; my eldest son Logan is turning 3 end of next month (Yikes!) but he is giving me a hard time, testing everything and sometimes I just want to give in just to get a break because it is just so tempting. Then I think to myself that its not going to teach him anything and I'm just going to have to deal with it again next time, so I need to stick to it through the hard times because it will get better.
Sit down and figure out what your goals are. This can be for different areas of your life, not just one, and make yourself a plan of action. Take baby steps to get yourself into it to not overwhelm yourself at first.
Just imagine where you could be in a few months or years from now if you don't give up and you truly go for what you want and not let a few bumps in the road stop you!
